TOWER BRIDGE

Tower Bridge

Big birthdays are always special.  This week my Uncle chose to mark his 70th with a sentimental journey down the Thames.  He joined the Merchant Navy when he was a boy, at a time when the Thames had more trade than pleasure craft.  We started by Cleopatra’s Needle sailed down as far as Gallions Reach, the point where ships used to enter the great London Dockyards, passing under Tower Bridge as well went. Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday! Our boys are fascinated by Tower Bridge. They’ve seen it open a couple of times and they loved going up on the bridge to see the giant hinges where the middle of the bridge folds up.

I wanted to have our wedding reception in the top walkway until we saw the price!

Awesome cloudy skies as a backdrop for the bridge. Love visiting London!

The sky looks as choppy as the water, I hope you all had a lovely time. My mum is 70 this year too. #MySundayPhoto
