Mr CW took the day off on Friday and we headed up to London for a family outing.  One of the Junior CWs’ favourite things to do is to lounge around on the bean bags in the Banqueting House (keep your eyes peeled for a full account  later this week) but Mr CW has always missed out on this treat as he is usually toiling away in the office.  When we left the Banqueting House, it was such a gorgeous day that it seemed a shame not to continue lounging in St James’s Park.   We walked across Horseguards and when I turn back to look and see where we had been it was too stunning not to snap away.  I love the way that buildings look like they should be in an historical illustration rather than the very centre of London.

It’s such a beautiful part of London and I love the buildings around Horseguards. What a gorgeous blue sky above them too 🙂

I do particularly like St James’s Park – I’ve strolled across it many a time in preference to taking the tube. Indeed, I do love all the London parks – I love how there is so much greenery and tranquility in the heart of such a big, bustling city.

We had our wedding reception overlooking the park and took time for a stroll round the park, lovely place

I have visited Horse Guards Parade but not seen it from this angle. It looks totally different doesn’t it? You’re right, doesn’t look like London at all.

Maybe that’s because you were sensible and didn’t lie down in the goose poo!
