It’s been a good year for the holly berries, as Elvis Costello nearly once sang. Prior to this autumn if you had asked me if my hollies were berry-bearing ones I would have said no. Lovely variegated leaves but no berries. This year has proved me wrong and how! There are so many berries that you can see them from the house. It’s not only the outer branches either, there are berries tucked away deep into tree. Now the only question is, will the birds leave any so that I can use them to decorate the house at Christmas?
How lovely – if they last, they will really brighten up the house come Christmas-time!
Fingers crossed, the ivy is looking good too!
Wow that is a lot of berries. We have just leaves so far,.
Goodness, looks like it has been saving them up over the years just for this moment! Good luck with the birds 🙂 #MySundayPhoto
I shall be stocking the bird feeders in the hope of distracting them!
Holly berries always make me feel all festive
Thank you for linking up
Maybe we should buy some mince pies?
You have such a good lot there. I am seeing them everywhere right now and I love that bright colour they bring to everything!
I just love the vivid red this time of year X #mysundayphoto
Fantastic photo! It really makes me feel Christmassy x
If I were a bird, I’m afraid I wouldn’t leave you any. Shiny red berries look delicious!
Lovely bright colour. Put some birdfeed out to tempt them away!
Will buy fat balls asap!
So beautiful, perfect photo for this time of year x
Hi Catherine, what a wonderful shock of colour the berries add to the bush. I do hope there are some left for Christmas.
