#CULTUREDKIDS SEPTEMBER 2017

Where did the summer go?  How can it be time for #CulturedKids September 2017 already?  At our house this summer has been different.  Our teens headed off to Sweden for two weeks for a Scout Jamboree and so were off being cultured all on their own.   Whilst we headed off to the theatre and evenings out without having to worry about when we needed to be back.

We barely had time to do the washing after the teens returned from Sweden before we set off on our family summer holiday.  This year we took the ferry to the Netherlands.  Sandy beaches, easy cycling and great museums, the Netherlands has it all which makes me wonder why we didn’t stumble across any other British holiday makers until we got to Amsterdam and her glorious museums.  Highlight of the trip for me was finally getting to see and cross the mighty Afsluitdijk, whilst for the teens it was experiencing Europe’s highest swing at the A’DAM Lookout.

Thank you to everybody who linked up with #CulturedKids in August, I really enjoyed reading all your cultural adventures.  Three posts that I especially enjoyed were:

NORFOLK ADVENTURES – BINHAM PRIORY by After the Rain

#CulturedKids September 2017

As a Norfolk girl I confess I have a weakness for Norfolk adventures.  Binham Priory is the most amazing place, a huge building in an otherwise empty landscape, Tara told its tale beautifully complete with stunning photographs.

JACOBITE CRUISES – IN SEARCH OF NESSIE IN LOCH NESS by Tots2Travel

#CulturedKids September 2017

Loch Ness is beautiful but all you really want to look for when you visit is Nessie the Loch Ness monster.  Tots2Travel found the perfect way to monster watch by boat.  Sadly they didn’t manage to see Nessie but I guess that just means that they will have to try again another day.

THE PENA PALACE, SINTRA WITH KIDS – A FAIRYTALE DESTINATION by Mini Travellers

#CulturedKids September 2017

Hats off to the Mini Travellers who climbed what I remember to be the steep slope up to the multi coloured Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal.  The whole place looks like a film set, with high towers and fancy crenellations.

What have you been up to over the summer?  You can link up your #CulturedKids September 2017 adventures with Nell over at THE PIGEON PAIR AND ME.
