Autumn has officially arrived, the conkers have started to fall in our front garden. Others may say that the equinox needs to be passed but for me the first conkers mean that open fires, stews and tights cannot be far away. Time to park the car out of the reach of the falling conkers, I forgot one year and was rewarded with a bonnet pitted with imprints of falling conkers.
I have seen lots on the ground here too, it really is autumn
They only began falling yesterday here, love how the seasons change at different places in such a small island
A sure sign Autumn is here….I need to find some where to collect conkers this year!
The conker tree in the front garden was one of things that sold the house to us!
This really captures Autumn for me! #MySundayPhoto
Thank you!
Blimey, it really is autumn already!
Putting my sandals away today and getting out my boots
ooh I cant wait to go Coner picking with my daughter this year! #MySundayPhoto
AWW, it’s a conker! This will always mean childhood to me. My daughter, now 12, used to delight in filling her backpack full of conkers. You are right, they are so evocative of changing weather.
I always end up with pockets full of them
Oooh stew and dumplings! I really want to eat that now. A conker hit our car as I was driving the other day. It gave me the shock of my life until I realised what it was. #MySundayPhoto
Oxtail stew for tea today xxx
Lovely photo! I wouldn’t be happy to have my car damaged by conkers!
We’d had it for more than 10 years at that stage and the bumps just added to the dimpled and scratched nature of her!
As children we spent many happy hours sourcing the best conkers.
I still love collecting them, its just what to do with them afterwards!
Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I need to go and find some conkers
Thank you for linking up
Think this is something we’ll be doing this afternoon #MySundayPhoto
Crikey, it really is Autumn now I have seen these!
We have cookers falling all over the Glade too, we are very popular with young visitors at this time of year. I have to rethink my parking arrangements too! A lovely photo, you have managed to capture them at their shiny best xx #mysundayphoto

Great autumnal photo. #MySundayPhoto
Oh dear! In South Africa, Spring brings hail storms which can also lead to dented bonnets or broken windows if you’re especially unlucky.
yes, conkers here too, although the leaves are still fairly green

Our leaves are still green too even with the miner moth
Oh no nightmare, but such a beautiful time of year x
Happy to move the car for the beautiful conkers!
Autumn ground treasure that is. xx
