BRITISH BOOKS CHALLENGE 2017

British Books Challenge 2017

What is the British Book Challenge? I hear you cry.  Well, simply it is to read twelve books  by British authors in 2017.  Chelley Toy, over at Tales of Yesterday has come up with the idea of making everything more social by hosting a linky for the reviews.  You don’t even need a blog, if you have a GoodReads account simply copy the link for your review and pop it in the monthly linky.

So what British reads do I have in my sights?  Three titles spring to mind with a distinctly Norfolk tang.

The first book that I shall finish in the New Year will be THE ESSEX SERPENT by Sarah Perry who is based in Norwich.

On my Christmas wish list is THE GUSTAV SONATA by Rose Tremain who is also Norfolk based.

Third on my list is DIVINE REVELATIONS OF DIVINE LOVE by Mother Julian of Norwich as her name implies she lived in Norwich.   My Grandmother always assured me that “All shall be well and all manner of things shall be well”, not just homespun wisdom but a quotation from Mother Julian who was a fourteenth century Christian mystic.  I have always intended read her book and now forty years after I first heard of her maybe I will!
