ALLIUMS AT POLESDEN LACEY

Alliums Polesden Lacey

Polesden Lacey is my nearest National Trust property and we explore there often which is why it was a surprise to stumble across this display of aliiums at Polesden Lacey that we had not seen before.  This week I visited with my mother.  As we strolled around admiring the roses, we came across this border stuffed full of alliums and peonies.  The peonies were still mainly in tight bud but I suspect that by this weekend they will both be in full bloom.

In addition to the house and garden, Polesden Lacey is surrounded by an estate in which it is possible to wander widely.  Visits with the Junior CWs usually see us striding round the woodlands or geocaching.

Alliums have to be some of my absolute flowers – I love their texture as well as their colour.

They are impressive Alliums. I love Polesdean Lacey and may well be heading there later this week. I’ll tell you if the Penoies have come into bloom! #MySundayphoto

What a beautiful sight. Like pops of colour. Wonderful to see them as lone flowers, but spectacular like this border. Must add some to my garden. #MySundayPhoto

One of my favourite flowers. You have captured them perfectly. Funny to think they are a member of the onion family! #sundayphoto

Those are beautiful. Not bad for a bunch of onions! These are the sorts of places I hated my parents dragging me too when I was young but love to visit now. #MMBC
